Rod Chang
Rod Chang has over 20 years’ astrological experience. He studied at the Faculty of Astrological Studies in London and has expanded his knowledge through home study and practice. He specialises in mundane astrology and favours a humanistic approach to astrology.
He has taught western astrology in Mandarin for over ten years and has authored seven astrology text books in Chinese. Rod was also the in-house astrologer on three seasons of a popular daytime TV show in Taiwan. Since 2015, Rod has spoken at several international conferences in Poland, the UK, and most recently the 2016 Australia FAA International Astrology conference.
Rod and Jupiter Lai co-founded the Academy of Astrology (AOA), opening in Taiwan and Hong Kong before expanding into China and Japan. Rod is also the founder of the newly launched Academy of Astrology UK, bringing the AOA to English speaking students of astrology.
Marcos Patchett
Marcos is a medical herbalist and medical and horary astrologer. He received several academic awards while studying herbal medicine, and gained the London School of Astrology’s Certificate in 2006, since when he has developed his knowledge of traditional astrology through reading, home study, and experience in practice. He is particularly interested in the practical application of astrology, specialising in medical and horary techniques, which he uses primarily as an adjunct in the treatment of private herbal medicine clients.
He is currently a clinic supervisor for Middlesex University’s herbal medicine BSc & MSc courses, and practices from Neal’s Yard remedies’ Therapy Rooms in Covent Garden. Marcos is currently conducting clinical research on the possible benefits of chocolate in sickle cell anaemia, while studying medieval & classical medical astrology, and writing his first book on the pharmaceutical history & usage of cacao.

Mandi Lockley
Mandi Lockley is a London based astrologer and author. She has run her Astroair blog since 2009 and has been published widely including at astro.com and in the Journal of the Astrological Association of Great Britain. She currently has a regular column at Infinity Astrological Magazine and speaks at conferences and events, including at the Astrological Association’s 2018 Conference. In 2012 she authored the e-book Saturn in Scorpio: Your Guide Through the Dark to positive reviews and is also a published fiction author.
Mandi studied at the London School of Astrology and holds the school’s Diploma, its highest qualification.
Brian Fung
Course Coordinator
Brian Fung has practiced astrology for over 10 years, including natal chart reading, elections as well as translation of English astrology titles into Chinese. His translation works include those of Brian Clark’s as well as Christian Astrology Book 1. Since 2016, Brian has joined AOA Taiwan and become one of the tutors. He has been actively taking part in organising courses of western astrologers in Chinese community, such as co-organising FAS module course in Beijing in fall 2017.
